Learning

The International School of Hellerup provides a comprehensive, student-centered education from Early Years through High School. We combine rigorous academics with genuine care for each student's development, preparing lifelong learners who think globally and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
International Baccalaureate Continuum
ISH is an IB World School and one of two schools in Copenhagen offering the three main programmes of the International Baccalaureate (IB): the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP). Being an IB Continuum school allows us to offer the unique benefits of an inquiry-centered, transdisciplinary and skills-focused learning continuum from early years through high school.
ISH received authorisation for the IB Diploma Programme and IB Middle Years Programme in 2015 and for the IB Primary Years Programme in 2016.
High School Pathways
In high school, students at ISH choose between two distinct educational pathways: the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and the Danish STX. Both prepare students for university and beyond while maintaining ISH's commitment to developing caring, courageous learners with a growth mindset.
Danish STX
Our danish STX programme prepares students for higher education while developing strong academic, social, and study skills. We offer a three-year programme emphasising both rigorous academics and personal wellbeing, recognising that student flourishing is essential to learning and development.
At STX, you'll experience teachers and leadership who understand your individual needs — academically and personally. We prioritise collaborative culture, meaningful teacher-student relationships, and genuine student voice in everything we do. Students can choose from language, social science, and natural science study tracks, each designed to enhance university prospects. We offer study track exploration days throughout the year so students can discover which direction suits them best.

IB Mission Statement
The International Baccalaureate® Organization (IBO) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end, the organization IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
