Venera Stika

Ms. Venera was born in Albania and at the age of eight she moved to Greece with her family. She started violin lessons at the age of six and continued her studies at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and the University of Music Science and Arts specializing in violin teaching.

She also holds a diploma from the Tibor Varga Music Academy in Hungary. She previously taught music and violin at the Conservatory and Music School in Greece.

What I most like about Denmark and Copenhagen?

 "That Denmark respects human rights and gives you the sense of safety and freedom."

Edward grew up in England, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and Art History at Goldsmiths University, London in 2004 and a Graduate Diploma in Law at University of Law, London in 2015. He has 5 years experience working with vulnerable young people in London.

What I most like about Denmark and Copenhagen?

“Swimming in the harbour. Only in the summer!”

Pune Thomas

Mr. Thomas was born in Melbourne, Australia and moved to Brisbane with his family when he was 14. He completed a Science degree and a PhD in Molecular Biology at The University of Queensland, where he also worked as a tutor in various Biology and Chemistry laboratory classes for 8 years. He lived in Buenos Aires for a year where he learned Spanish, complimenting university electives in Spanish. Afterwards, he completed a Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) at Queensland University of Technology. He has been at ISH since 2016. On top of ASCP, he privately tutors DP students as well as working as a substitute teacher.

What I most like about Denmark and Copenhagen?

“I like the freedom of expression and cosmopolitan attitudes. I also like that I can get around everywhere on bike and have left car stress behind."

Melissa Coleman

Ms. Coleman was born in South Africa and holds a Post-graduate degree (Hons.) in English Studies. She has spent some time teaching English Literature at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (S.A) and 3 years teaching ESL in South Korea. Ms. Coleman loves traveling and is happy to be a part of an IB school that embraces and encourages global mindedness.

What I most like about Denmark and Copenhagen?

"I feel that Denmark is the best place to raise children due it’s safe and nurturing environment."

Daniel was born in the United States. He has worked in education in The US, Japan, and Denmark. He holds a Master’s Degree in counseling Psychology. Daniel’s main focus is on helping students develop social skill and building resiliency.

Mr Ben was born in Melbourne, Australia. He completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Media, Communications and German from the University of Melbourne in 2015. Mr Ben has previously been involved in English teaching programs within Denmark and also tutored migrants and refugees in Australia.

What do I most like about Copenhagen?

"I love being able to cycle through the city. I also love to window shop and explore all the interesting and unique stores within Copenhagen."

Magdalena Povlsen

Pre-K ASCP Teacher

Ms. Magdalena was born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic, where she studied education and social work. Later she moved to Toronto, CA to study fine arts.

She volunteered at Central Technical School in Toronto, leading workshops in print marking and painting for children while working as junior newscaster for the Czech television station in Canada. Ms. Magdalena has lived in Copenhagen with her husband since 2009.

What I most like about Denmark and Copenhagen?

"The multicultural aspect of the city, having friends from all over the world, cultural life, galleries, summer and the fresh air."
